Question

My 95 WRX Ra has what appears to be a 5th injector on the top of the inlet manifold, it's 'T'd in to the fuel main.

I've not noticed this on earlier WRX or UKs

Is this just for cold enrichment or something ? Do the other Scoobs have them hidden from view ?

any hints welcome

thanks

Question

It looks original as the fuel supply is rigid piped as part of the injector rail and the power plug is from the original loom.

The injector is located between the throttle valve and that little blank plug in the top of the manifold.

Yep, 5th injector mate. Ring Townend and they'll tell you all about it.

It is indeed a 5th injector.

It is used for WOT enrichment, without sacrificing idle stability.

It is indeed a fifth injector for background fueling on WOT.

Does anyone know if the standard ECU actually make use of the injector, or is it there for homologation?

Wide Open Throttle

It's the state that occurs when you run out of space between the go faster pedal and the floor.

Yea std. ECU does use the 5th, as far as the 'man in the pub' could tell me.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys,

I'll need to connect my meter to it and see if it operates or not

So I may not need to upgrade my injectors to get over 300 bhp then ? (if it works )

JohnBarnesandYourGloves - any chance of changing your username? You make for very untidy threads

Thanks
