Knock Link LED's - How Many?
#1
For those of us who have a Knocklink installed, how many LED's do you typically see when driving hard? Also, what clock position is your calibration screw set to?

I use to have mine on maximum sensitivity and no LEDs lit!
Thanks to Bob Rawle of BRD who mapped my car!!
It lit up when I used fuel of a lower grade (BP or Esso super unleaded) rather than the fuel the car was mapped for (Shell Optimax).

I sometimes get the first green, lighting up steadily, above around 6000rpm. Sensitivity is on full. I believe it's just normal engine noise.
Cheers,

I don't know if the position the sensor is fitted plays a role in sensitivity. I have mine fitted as shown in the pic. This bolt is found under the intercooler, so removal of intercooler is necessary and it is fitted to the engine block.
Others fit them to one of the inlet manifold bolts. I don't know if this would make it less sensitve.
This photo was supplied by Jan Shim and it is his instructions I followed.
Cheers,
Wrexy.

I sometimes get 2 greens, sometimes 1, sometimes none, on full throttle.
The times that it had knock'ed (due whatever reasons - usu heat soak at stop lights), all lit up and I could hear the pinging as well.
My sensitivity on max also, but didn't bother removing the intercooler so its bolted to the intake manifold. Will install it lower when I next remove the intercooler (the new MY01 intercoolers are so big they cover everything!).

As above - 1st led only, occasional 2nd green flashes when changing gear/lifting off. Max. sensitivity - mounted on front rhs intercooler mount.
