Ok guys,
Next on the jobs list is a new air filter for my MY01 but the question is which one is best? I've read a lot of stuff about people fitting the ITG onesbut would like to hear comments......
I'm not even sure what type of filter (Panel??) is fitted inside my car but do I just make a straight swap or fit something like a cone filter???
Apologies for sounding so stupid!
Any links where to buy em (Cheapest!) greatly appreciated?

Cheers,

Nick..

OK I'll try, but I don't have a MY01.

You have a panel filter and supposedly a better less restrictive resonator than the old models. Apparently you mass air flow sensor is different too, but the main worry on <MY00 is that this is your boy for determining fuelling and can mean life or death for your engine.

I personally have tried original panel, K&N 57i induction, and am now on an ITG panel filter which I like the most for noise and performance. I think the K&N gave a little more at the top and sacrificed some low down torque, but was far too noisy and there was little in it. I hope it is safER for my MAF sensor.

Hope this helps.

If you want to make your car quick get the uppipe and downpipes done and up the boost in your preferred fashion. Some would argue your ECU is able to cope with this and adjust timing and fuelling in world class fashion. I am not a believer and think you would do best with either a simple boost controller with appropriate safety monitoring (air fuel ratio and boost gauge minimum) or a proper remapped ECU.

i have an ITG fitted to my MY01 and am quite happy with the results coupled with a scoobysport turbo-back system.
it would appear that the induction kit seems to be a good way to MAF sensor death- and i understand from various posts that the increase from using an induction kit over an ITG are negligible.

Hello,
I have a BMC air filter (like the K&N or the Green),
I have removed the resonator (in the driver-forU- front wing),
I have a Supersprint Downpipe, mid section and muffler,
I have a C.E. light on for 6 month now &
I am very happy with this setup.

Next will be the up-pipe, but here in France, the up-pipe is unavaillable. Must have to order in GB or US.
US pipes have a second boss for EGT.
I would like Scoobysport's one to have a second bung too ! !

Nice ride with your rex
