Exhaust Advice - 04 WRX
Hi all,
I'm back owning a scoob after a 2 year abscence Picked up a '04 WRX with a few STi and Prodrive bits and pieces on it.
I've only owned classics in the past, so I am still in the learning phase of the new age models. Can someone explain to me how many pieces there are to the new age exhaust, how many cats there are and most importantly which ones/parts can be replaced for the car to remain road legal?
On my previous Impreza's i've always gone with Hayward & Scott full decat systems for a great sound and good performance. I know they make components for the new age of course, but two kids later i'm wondering if they are still a little two loud, and if there are subtler alternatives. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I imagine they'll be plenty of people who post "Search function ftw" but give me a break... i'm a returning veteran!
Thanks in advance!

From the turbo back...........the WRX will consist of the downpipe (cat) then
another short link pipe (cat)
then the resonated centre pipe
then the backbox
best replacing the link pipe for a decat pipe, non resonated centre pipe and the b/box.
This will still pass the mot.
