Default gear box compatability

My 2nd gear synchro has gone and it looks like it will be cheaper to buy a used gearbox rather that have it rebuilt.

Car is a 96 RA Mcrea V-Limited import with dccd

Which gear boxes are a direct swap, any with longer gears?

Thanks in advance

Give Howard a call at HDC Subaru. You might be supprised how cheap a rebuild is. Howard charged me 250 quid (I took the box out but they can take it out in no time if you can't do it yourself) I had 3 new syncro's fitted as well as 5th gear/key replaced (I supplied the gear)
