Default Rear Wheel Bearing Collapse, Hub Damage?

Hi guys,

My rear wheel bearing let go this weekend but I was 200 miles from home.
Upon jacking the car up there was significant movement in the wheel, I decided to drive the car back home at 50mph, the bearing did not get any worse as the damage had already been done.
Question is would this have damaged the hub? am I better off obtaining a complete hub assembly and fitting that instead of taking it apart and pressing the hub and bearing out only to find its fooked..

Car is a MY00 forester UK S turbo, I know the impreza hub is identical

Might be worthwhile getting a used hub as a standby but you won't really know the extent of the damage until it's stripped down and what's left of the bearing pressed/chiseled out.

My guess is though that after that mileage, it's probably beyond a new bearing.
