was wondering what the best combination of exhaust / filter / dump valve mods to make to my scooby to make it louder (exhaust note and a bit more whoooshhhh-pissstttt(?), but keep hearing scary stories of overfueling, MAF failure, damaged turbo blades etc etc with certain mods.
what is the safest and loudest combination?
ie. HKS Hiper Centre and BB / Scooby Sport DP / K&N / keep standard dump valve?
peccy - MY00 Turbo 2000

I have the HKS Exhaust system, Tomorrow I will be getting s scoobysport 3 inch down pipe, this will add to the noise.
I also have a 'kin loud HKS dumpvalve, its loud enough to make peopel jump when it goes off.
I have the HKS induction kit, which roars & helps with turbo noise.
All in all a bit excessive for an every day car, but to hell with it.

barge, what sort of dump valve is the HKS, is it the re-circ or atmos type? heard the atmos ones can cause MAF failure amongst other probs???
would i hear the standard dump valve more if i was just to fit an induction kit?

I have a MY99 and have suffered a few MAF failures.I have now changed to a blitz SUS filter with no problems.Seems the dry stainless mesh filters are the way to go.The rest of my set up is an sti3 intercooler, collins twin piston dump valve, Falkland (same as S/S) downpipe & HKS drager system.
It makes all the right noises now

If loud is what you're after Peccy, why not go for the HKS Hiiper with Scoobsport DP, De catted, with BLitz Dump Valve, BLitz SUS Airfilter!!!
I know just the place too!
Have a look under Bltiz - Dump Valves they look so nice!

There's been loads of these threads lately, but I'll pop my 2p worth in again and say how good my Blitz induction has been - no problems and touching on 9000 miles.
Power Engineering T75 exhaust is v.good and I get to keep the cat on as well.

We have a TRUST exhaust, HKS superflow, and a Blitz blow off valve
(also makes people jump) Had them on the car for the last 29 months and no probs so far(touch wood) Just had a TSL d/p fitted, and boy does it sound good. The Trust zorst was quite quiet, jasma and all that, so wasn't like, say, HKS etc in the noise dept, but know it sounds good, had 5 peeps in 1 day saying your exhaust is on it's way out
