Coil Packs - What did new ones do for U.
#1
As u probably guessed from my previous mail http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=66399
I'm trying to decide weather it's worth changing my coil packs as the car has now done 66,000 miles and there is no sign in the service file that they have been done.
I have removed them several times and all bar 1 of them is OK visually, but I'm not sure if these things start to break down internally.
OR
They are only classed as knackered if the ends are cracked (1 of mine has a very small crack)
I did receive a set from a Breakers a while ago, and they were all very badly cracked to the point of nearly falling apart, hence they were returned pronto.
So my question is..... why did you change them and was there an improvement...and do you think I should do mine....

Most change theirs when upping boost. Hesistation occurs and a misfire when load starts to get high.
If your car isnt doing it, then not worth changing them. I was tinkering with a link at the time, (or rather bob was) and it simply wouldnt not ignite the fuel without buying new packs, soI had no choice.
Simple case, stuttered before, didnt after!
