top mount intercooler upgrades

have a p1 so dont want to butcher front end with fmic.has anyone fitted a uprated top mount or top mount and charge cooler with proven benefits over standard item.also want it to look good and function ie polished alloy etc.i know about pace but concerned about water temp with smaller rad..
