Whats the max power a v5 type r gearbox can handle
Hey guys thinking of buying a type r and fitting a 2.5 bottom end and bigger turbo just wondering what power the gearbox can take.
Also what would be the best job for uprating a type r box swapping for a 6speed setup or a ppg gear set?

iv the same and will be doin the same as you but im goin for 450bhp and the gearbox is the last thing iv to do i was told.
but like you im unsure which box il go for.
can you get a ppg 5speed type r box and make the 5th gear longer
or make the 1st 4 gears on a 6speed box like a type r.

mate of mine running 420 bhp with a v4 type R has just got the PPG fitted in his , and Paul at ZEN also added a UK 5th for the motorways 
and the git gets better 60 foot times than me
not 1/4 though or 1/8th for that matter
