Thumbs up Big Thanks To David & the Boys at API

Hi guys. Id just like to say a big thanks to David and the guys at API for helping me out. I had a problem with my gearbox a few weeks back and i was told by most people and gearbox specialists that it would just have to rebuilt from scratch costing in excess of £700.

I got hold of David who is probably the most helpful bloke ive spoken to and he said they would have a look at it to find the problem and let me know before any work was even carried out.
As it happens my box was easily repairable at a cost of only 235 quid inc VAT so i was chuffed.

When i arrived to pick up the box the guys in the workshop proved equaly as helpful as david. I needed the small spring that fits on the gear linkage that centres the gear lever. One of the guys shot off for about 5 minutes and came back with a spare
Whilst i was on a winner i also managed to get some exhaust nuts too.

All in all i was Totally amazed the people/buisnesses like this still existed so its a big thumbs up from me and i would recommend to anyone who had a problem to go here first otherwise you will only waste time going elsewhere and probably end up back here anyway.

Thanks again guys. Saved me a fortune

Coming to a town near you soon " APi the Series " you'll never be more than 50 miles away from a branch.

Seriously though, I've had an ' empire ' before, with 10 branches of APi Engines and the grief that you get with staff across a nationwide chain beggars belief.

Not for me anymore, you'll all have to move within sensible driving distance of Warwickshire.

Good Luck all, David

I'd just like to add to this post if I may,........

I took my car for the 1 and a half hour trip to APi on tuesday last week for it first major service since its been on uk tarmac.

I took the car there mainly due to their superb reputation on here, and the fact that they were the best price I was quoted over the usual workshops was a big bonus. Some of the places that also quoted me were a lot closer to me but I'm glad I made the extra journey to visit APi.

Sure there are a lot more 'fancier' places you can take your car but its the workmanship and service thats provided that counts in my books, and David and the crew at APi exceeded that in my opinion.

I arrived there at 9.30am, everyone I spoke to made me feel very welcome, they had one of there lads take me into Leamington Spa town center (about 5-6 miles away from APi) at 10am as it was a full major cambelt and oil pump service which was obviously gonna take quite a few hours, which I thought was brilliant of them! I was then picked up from Leamington Spa at 3pm by David and when we got back to the workshop my car was just rolling in from a quick test drive to make sure everything was good. But the mechanic didn't stop there, back up on the ramp it went to check for any leaks, a quick clean up underneith the car, and then a walk around the car with David and the mechanic to show me exactly what had been done on the car. Pretty much everything they had done was visable, i.e aux belts changed, oil pump changed with one of their modified red crackle painted pumps, oils and filters. I wasn't expecting that! and the mechanic even checked out everything else on the car to make sure it was all in good shape, even as far as to finding my boot had a slight leak!

basically they made sure I was 100% happy with the car before driving it out which I think is a real sign of a dedicated garage.

So I'll definately be going back to APi for the rest of my service's for as long as I own the car, they're a real top bunch and very helpful!

Cheers,
Arron.

David,

I drink your coffee, wear holes in the office carpet, pick your brains, borrow ecu's, beat you up on pricing......

Then I had a moment of weakness and thought...you know, I must spend a bit more with API...then the wife reminded me...

I spent £9k last year!

Thanks for all your help and Have a great Christmas.

John

Better bring the race car in so that we can make it worth towing behind such a fine machine. Can't have you towing junk about.............

David

PS I think I gave you more than 9k in discount and 'deals'.
