Does anyone know if a UK gearbox will fit into a MY94 WRX? Can't put up with 3000rpm at 60mph in 5th gear! What is the revs at the same speed with a uk gearbox?

Cheers Steve.

Steve, what are you doing up at this time of the night!!

tut, tut, tut. I'll speak to you in the afternoon about the above but i think the best people to speak to may be the boys at town end garage. (www.townendgarage.co.uk)

Failing that then Prodrive technical boffins may help (I did say MAY help!)

See ya!

Don't think I can do this all night as you have to wait for the flood control to clear!

Steve

It will bolt right in and everything will fit.....but
It will probably have a 3.9 final drive ratio and your final drive on a WRX is likely to be 4.44
You will therefore require the rear diff from the same model.
Just ensure both ratios are the same or you will blow your centre diff !
I strongly recommend that you actually count the teeth to be sure of the ratio. I recently purchased a MY95 RA box which had a 4.1 fitted, my MY95 RA had a 3.9 ! Beware !

Any gearbox will fit as long as you replace your back diff aswell, so for example : if you fit a UK 99 gearbox you will need to fit a UK 99 back diff. This is because the diff in the g/box would spin at a different speed than your WRX back diff causing one or the other to break. Speek to Dave at Jap Innovations (0161-652-0920)they are dealers for MRT performance and he should be able to tell you more.

Hope this Helps.
