Default PROBLEM WITH 4TH GEAR

I HAVE READ ALOT OF THESE ON HERE ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH GEARS.

I HAVE A 95 RA WITH DCCD I AM RUNNING CHEEP GEAR OIL AT THE MO AS ITS ONLY DOING A FEW MILES HERE AND THERE AS ITS JUST HAD A BIG REBUILD.

WHEN I SHIFT UP MOST GEARS ITS NOTCHY BUT DOESNT CRUNCH( PUT THIS DOWN TO THE OIL)

WHEN I GO DOWN IN TO 4TH ITS A BIT CRUNCHY BUT IF I DROP THE REVS IT GOES IN OK.

ALSO GOING UP TO 4TH WHEN DRIVING HARD ITS A BIT CRUNCHY EVEN DOUBLE CLUTCHING DOESNT HELP MUCH.

COULD THIS BE THE GEAR BOX MOUNTING OR HAVE I GOT TO UPGRADE THAT BIT ASWELL.

HOW MUCH FOR PPG GEARS AND SYNCROS

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP

It's cheap for a reason....
How do you think you can run a car like this for pennies.
Start saving for the next re-build mate.

Five posts and such a nasty attitude already, and as for spanners got plenty mate.

Seriously tho' cheap oil is ****.... sadly you can't run a Scoob on the cheap, 10 years bills to prove that.

Hope you have luck sorting the probs, anyway

Dunx

P.S. worn selector forks or knackered synchro's

STI box is good for about 400 bhp, but not cheap, £1500 - £2000

P.S. Don't know how long it will last at that....

I'm not there, yet
