i currentlly am pissed rite off as bought a sti on a 95 import in june.drove for a week then gearbox started to whine like the bearings had gone.took it out and gave to a gearbox specialist who has not bother his ****.he says that the bearing in transfer box are need ing replace plus the crown wheel and pinion as there are shimms missing.i need parts for this as he doesn,t seem to have bothered so have the gearbox back.the problem being that my crown wheel and pinion has 9 teeth insteaed of 10 which every other model seems to have.the number on gearbox is ty752vb4aa.have been told this is not a easy gearbox to find or get parts for.can anyone help with a spare gearbox they have for sale or where i can get parts as buying my first scooby and only drivin for a week out of 11 is not makin me happy plus am no further forward in gettin it back on the road.help........

Your gearbox is correct with having a 9 tooth pinion, as the final drive ratio is 4.111 which is 37 crown wheel teeth matching to 9 pinion teeth. Nothing strange about that box at all it is a simple 96 WRX or STi box . It certainly isn't rare or anything daft like that.
We probably have a perfect used one off the shelf - if not we can rebuild it, in fact we can do whatever you want with it.
