As above, I'm thinking about a turbo upgrade soon and wondered what the stock engine can manage? Powerstation recommend no more than 1.4 BAR boost, but bigger turbos can produce more power at that level of boost.

What's the general opinion and who else is running more power on stock internals?

I'm running about 335bhp / 330lbft at the moment.

when zen mapped mine he told me the engine will take 1.6 all day long but the boost solonoid will only cope with 1.5ish so just a case of up grading that mines just a decat with an air filter and map on a vf35 and mapped to 1.45 but i see peak of 1.58 speak to paul at zen as many on here will recommend

I see you drive a 2003 STI - I think this was the last model to have proper forged pistons / rods. Apparently the STI pistons from 2004 onwards are some sort of high-tech cast piston, which ain't as strong as the proper forged ones.
