You can either buy a spare centre diff and weld it up, or buy one already done from Australia

I have done a couple of rear wheel drive conversions now and they work fairly well. The only problems I have had is with one version 2 sti. The nearside rear shaft has been shearing in the rear diff. This has only happened on one car and I put it down to the driving style. The other car is a 2.5 conversion STI version 2 this car has a plated rear LSD and does not seem to suffer this problem. However it does make for a very very interesting drive and should be treated with respect. This particular car will most likely be converted back to four wheel drive as the owner has frightened himself I think!
The job of the conversion is very straight forward and can be completed without removing the gearbox from the car. I would not however fancy doing it on the driveway a ramp makes the job really easy.
