OK, so here it goes.. STI 4

Go to pull away from the traffic lights as normal and the engine revs rise as if the 'box is in neutral - then all of a sudden the revs drop, there's a "clunk" and away we go as normal..

Get to stop and park up a couple of minutes later and there's a really nasty mettalic/plastic buring smell inside the cabin and under the bonnet.. I start to get concerned..

After this I get a juddering pulling away from rest but on the go changes are as before, no judder and plenty of power delivery with no unsual rise in revs during hard acceleration.. And there's no smell..

First though is that the clutch had burnt out, but now I think the clutch had got glazed a little during the traffic light incident and the juddering will go when the glazing goes.. So no major expense.. ?

Anybody had a similar experience or can shed some light on this ??

Cheerio.
