Default Would a Spec C clutch handle 400bhp?

Im running roughly 400bhp through my STI 7 Bugeye, would the standard clutch out of a Spec C handle this all day long and not be too agressive in traffic?

I think its just the same as a sti v7 - v8 clutch , But Ive been wrong before, The standard clutch from any newage sti should be ok just with normal use ,>>> I think ?? cheers Alan.

Cheers alan thought it was a standard item.

We now have an upgraded Exedy organic centre disc that is good for 500 the one we have been selling on Gb's will easily take 400 but I think it is getting not to have a safety factor much above that.

Call if I can help with our uprated one.

Isn't the spec C a bigger diameter too if you use the flywheel (and the 6 speeder)
Not sure if Scoobboy has a 6 speeder?

I think the flywheel is about 25mm larger in diameter so better 'capacity'

The clutch is a larger diameter than the 5 speed 'classic' clutch.
This means the area of the friction material to transmit the torque is greater on the 6 speed verses the 5 speed smaller clutch.

I term this to be the 6 speed diameter clutch has a greater capacity (capability) to transmit the torque without slipping.

If you drag race it every 5 minutes then the stock Sti 6 speed clutch may suffer in time. If you fit one of David's Exeedy units I think it would be better, an AP organic will be much the same to.

Paddles in a road car in traffic are terrible and wear very quickly, much more than an Organic faced clutch. (been there done it etc)
