Plated lsd: do I need another driveshaft?
I am trying to remove the visc lsd from my R160 Sti v3 rear diff.
I plan to put a plated lsd from an Sti RA in it's place.
The n/s rear drive shaft is extended to engage in the visc module.
The plated diff does not use the module.
Thus:
Do I need another drive shaft when fitting the plated diff or will the visc drive shaft still fit?

Scooby Regular
depends on age of diffs Graham..............the early R160 cars used 2 unequal length shafts and the later cars use equal noses...............
R180's are different again

Ok Alyn:
My Sti has one long, and one short shafts, but i guess you are saying the early plated diffs accept odd lengths, and the later ones need equal (short) lengths.
Incidentally, i will need some new pads for the rear on my Sti v3, so hope you can help compliment the excellent Pagid Blues.
Regards, Graham.
