Question

Ok I have the gauge and sender...wonderful. Now how do I fit it in the right place? I have heard there is something that fits into the sump. How does this work?

Do you need to take off the sump and have it installed? Or does it fit via the sump plug. If so how does this work? Will this affect the warranty?

There is a 1/8th BSP blank plug just above cylinder number three gallery.

If you look down through the arms of the inlet manifold at the top of the engine block at the cylinder closest to the turbo you will see it.

Some say this is a good place as it is the closest access point to the commonly suspect numbers 3 and 4 big end baring.

I have an Apexi Oil temp gauge and it is fitted to the sump plug as recommended by Apexi. Buy a new plug and get it machined to fit the sensor. Important thing to note to avoid any kind of leaks is to use a good quality crush washer .. you dont need teflon tape on the threads. I have had this for two years now and no leaks.
