What tranny did I not get?

What tranny did I not get?
So a purchased an RA transmission from a local vendor. He imported it from japan. The car was a 1999 JDM WRX Type RA non STI. It obviously has the RA gearing which the importer explained and it was also explained that it came with the R180 rear diff and the Subaru helical front diff. It didn't come with the R180 rear diff and I did a little poking around and seems that it didn't come with the LSD front diff either. Is this likely or does it sound probable?

I have seen conflicting info on this code so it could really go either way i think. But more than likely it's just an RA geared WRX tranny with no special LSD's. I have the luck in that regard.

According to my list, those trans have a viscous lsd in the front.
I am having a nightmare of a time with rear diffs so I know how you feel...
You and I have the same lucky streak!

Sc0oby's transmission or my transmission?
argh! Subarus ability to keep models straight is maddening! JTaylor has the same Transmission code as me and said that his is an open front diff but the tq split is more towards the rear than most WRX's. Of course you never know I may have an open front or I may have a helical. * sigh *

poormans: this is what is listed on my jdm wrx ra model. I have no plan on opening the tranny since this is still in its original seal type. As a trader i rather have the buyer open it himself so he can assure that no one has touch it yet. i have sold the RA motor so i still have the tranny and the rear diff for sale

Impreza WRX RA & RA Ltd. MY99-00 TY754VB1BA 3.083 2.062 1.545 1.151 0.825 4.444 Viscous (4kgf) Open
Impreza WRX & WRX STi Ver.V/VI MY99-00 TY754VBAAA 3.166 1.882 1.296 0.970 4.444 Viscous (4kgf) Open
As you can see, both run an open front diff and a viscous centre. The first trans came out of the car described but the vendor was mistaken as to that models specification. Sc0oby, yours is out of a V5/V6 WRX/STI, not a Type-RA, by the looks of it (a MY97-MY98 Type-RA had a TY752VB5BA).
To the best of my knowledge, no WRX Type-RAs had a helical front LSD; only the models below:
TY752VB6EA (Impreza WRX STi RA V-Limited Ver.IV)
TY754VB1EA (Impreza WRX STi RA Ltd. Ver.V/VI )
Hope this helps

gc8: yes i am sure this is an WRX RA which we dismantle in japan. It is not an sti model. The code seems to be the same as a V5 without a dccd. Most sti has a guage redline at 7900. This particular model is redline at 7500. I have the guage so i am assure this is a wrx RA model. Also the intake manifold is silver instead of red which we can easily distinguish from the sti model.

I haven't taken the box apart yet but I'm already in the process of ordering a front LSD coz I'm 100 percent sure in the fact that I got something other than what I was told.
Thanks for all your helpz.
