Default GAUGING INTEREST ON UNBREAKABLE TRANSFER GEAR-OUTPUT SHAFT FOR 5MT trannies...

Hello All!!!

I am new to the forum, but I have been welcomed very warmly by all members whom I have chatted with thus far....

Here in the U.S., in Texas!!! HOWDY!!!! HA

In process of having some "unbreakable" transfer gear - output shafts made to fit the 5 speed manual trannies with the 1.1 :1 step up ratio....

I am also in process of manufacturing the common sets for the 6 speed with the 1 :1 ratio that the JDM 6 speed and USDM 6 speed both share...

What I would like to do is get some feedback from the UK community as to the demand for these shafts....

If you have 280bhp+, an uprated gearset or stock, and, if you road race or drag race (or just launch hard on good tarmac with sticky tires very often).................................

You will break or have already broken this output shaft in the tranny...

I have broken 6 in my car alone, with 590+whp, and many drag racers here in the states break them left and right..... like every time they go to the track...

this usually happens at around 280-300bhp at the wheels, but sometimes even lower hp cars break this assembly....

I run Holinger Dog Box gears in my tranny and an Exedy triple carbon-carbon clutch, so the rest of it is HELL FOR STOUT, but I break these output shafts every time I drive the car close to it's full potential....

that is why I am making my own shafts now, and I wanted to gauge interest on selling these to a UK distributor or becoming a direct distributor of my own products....

I am also planning an intake manifold for the 2.5L engines that will be much different than all the others that I have seen in production so far.... this will allow more horsepower at lower boost levels when horsepower gets above 450bhp and 20-25psi of boost....

please post under this thread starter if interested in gears....

I am unsure of pricing as of yet, because the first shaft is being made right now ....

assuming around $1000 U.S. , but, again, not sure....

Thanks for looking!

CHICKEN!!!!!!

HA!!!!

Just kidding man!!!!

well, here is how I figure them holding up.....

The stock part is obviously poxy..... so, anything better is an improvement, right???

well... mine should be able to hold much more power.... it will be as strong as the stock dimensions allow....

that is all I can say, I can't afford to do any lab stress analizing on it and keep it affordable for myself and those interested in purchasing it........

They are going to be made of 8620 Alloy with RC30 center with a RC60 outer case hardening/ with Ground (not hobbed) helical gears and bearing surfaces and some shaft diameter and spline length differences....

PPG is supposedly in process on this output shaft, but I was told from 2 months or more, at minimum......

I am tired of waiting, so I did it myself....

Do you break yours close to the radii where the rear bearing presses on???

Do your broken shafts show stress marks and twisting cracks from the splines down to where it snaps it clean off???

Your AVATAR looks impressive on your power numbers!!!!

any pics of the car?

Thanks for the interest and inquiry!!!
