Default Which Exhaust?

Guys,

I'm sorry to re-post this, but i've been reading through the search results and can't make my mind up.

I've a Classic MY95 WRX and it's exhaust time.

I want an exhaust that makes my car sound like the rally car it is, burble, crackle, pop - might sound chavvy, but it's the aspect of the Impreza that I love.

Can anyone reccomend an exhaust or an exhaust/de-cat pipe combo?

Cheers.

(Reposted here in the hope someone will reply...)

Blitz nur spec r or HKS super drager as there are rather loud.
I've got Revolution full system with HKS decat which is nice but not offensive.
Have a look at subaru impreza parts from scoobyworld, suppliers of high performance products for your Subaru as i think they have some sound samples of their exhausts.

Can I ask where you got your HKS decat from?

Tryin to find somewhere that sells a HKS de-cat downpipe, but not having luck.

tsl grp a decat downpipe, scoobyclinic straight through unresonated centre, and scoobyclinic 4" jap style back box. nice burble on idle (not to loud) but when driven sounds the dogs and is capable of setting car alarms off

I know they do not advertise the HKS down pipes on their website but you can get them here. Milsport along with all the HKS systems.
IMO there are better downpipes though.
Take a look at their site or call Ralph he will talk you through all the options.

Someone probably has a sound clip but not aware of one at the moment.
HKS will give you that nice Scooby burble that everybody wants, the Blitz however should be sold with ear plugs/defenders (especially with a 3" downpipe as well), it is so loud that you are probably asking for a tug (leading to other questions being asked, emissions tests etc) sooner or later, and on dual carriageways and motorways you will never hear your stereo, no matter how high you have the volume!!
Also think of your neighbours, as they can get pretty pissed early in the morning or late at night.

Cheers for the advice, but **** the neighbours.

Next door are ok, other way's vacant. There is a family tho, lol, we call them the screaming family.

Every day, if it's not her shouting at the kids, its the kids screaming at her to open the gate.

So no, i don't car much for my neighbours.

Getting remote start fitted on Thursday, so will be able to **** them off from the comfort of my bed lol

Seriously though, is the sound of the Blitz too lound even with the 'bung' in?

A Japanese 2003 Impreza had noise levels of 96db with the baffle inserted and 105db with the baffle removed.
Taken from Blitz Exhausts

I know your car isn't the same as the example above but i'd guess it would be just as loud.

I was going to get a Ninja 2, but want the rally burble, and every topic i looked at seemed to rate the Blitz as the best/loudest.

Now i've just got to convice the missus to let me spend £500 on an exhaust lol

Which decat? I was going to buy the full system - isn't the full system from the downpipe back, hence eliminating the cat under the car?

the blitz is only a cat-back so you will still need to change to down-pipe for a de-cat or sports cat version for better performance and sound.
Hayward and scott do a very good quality open mouth decat downpipe, also revolution supply a good one as well. if you get a H&S one then make sure its 3" all the way rather thank the one that tapers to 2.5"....

the magnex 3" twin dump is also very good, however most people believe the open neck design ones are better for flow.

Sorry I'm confused.

If I buy the Blitz System, not just the back box, what parts of the original exhaust will be left?

Just the down pipe?

So for the complete system, from the manifold back, i'd need:

De-cat down pipe - Blitz Nur Spec R System

Because i'm correct in assuming my car has 2 cats, and the Blitz replaces the one in the middle under the car??

Sorry for being stupid.

yes with the above setup your car will be completely cat-free and loud as anything.... you'll notice a difference in power also...
