Clutch biting point
Hi everybody
Just recently got myself a 1998 UK wagon (Turbo). 80,000 miles.
Is there a way to determine if a clutch is very worn based on the clutch biting point and level of pedal travel?
Biting point on my scoob is really quite low, is this an indication that it is on its way out?
There isn't any slipping or anything just trying to sort out the car budget.
Thanks

clutch
Normally if the biting point was very high it would indicate that it was worn out, possibly someone has been ajusting the clutch pedal threaded rod to change the bite point, or it could need a good bleed and fluid change, as the fluid get very hot in the cluch resevoir and goes black with the heat from the turbo. good luck.

My MY99 JDM Wagon has a really low biting point, hasn't changed much in the last 3 years though. I've read somewhere that some new clutch fluid might help, but haven't tried it yet.
