gear stick is a bit slack!!
i have a 1995 sti now the gear stick feels like it should have a spring or somthing thing to keep it in the middle of neautral it slops from side to side but only on one side (as in were first and second are) put on the other side it feels like it has a spring to push it back across. iv had a look and it looks like the problem is inside the gear box should i be worried and would it be an easy fixs!?!?!

Mine did that, it caused no problems except a few gear misses!
Think it cost about £1 to fix, I can't really remember, was the cheapest thing to get fixed on mine!

from what i can remember, at the bottom of the shifter thers a circular rubber bush with a big washer, on that washer theres a small tap that the spring attaches to. its a small spring maybe 50mm long with hooked ends!
