Weird fifth gear problem (not jumping out)!
I have a 95 WRX and I am finding that when driving on a motorway for example if I am off boost everything is fine. However, if I accelerate in fifth in boost I feel a juddering as if something is trying to grip and drive the car forward but can't grip properly making the car judder. If I back off all is well and sometimes it's not really noticable other times it is quite violent.
This only happens in fifth. I don't believe it to be the clutch slipping and I don't just plant it from low revs to create uneccessary load.
Any clues?

It doesn't feel like the clutch slipping and I would hope it's not the coil packs as they were only changed for brand new a couple of months ago.

I suspect it is due to the FMIC you fitted.. once mapped should be fine.
