Default Mmmm...what to do next?

My clutch has started to slip when hitting .5bar boost in 4th\5th and I'm going to get it changed and up rated...but as fourth gear syncro has gone (again), I'm wondering whether I should upgrade the 'box at the same time.

car is a UK MY00 wagon running somewhere around 280-300 currently. My plans are to go down the TD05 18g and fmic route which i guess should give me around 350\350.

any advice on the best way forward and or prices would be gratefully received

Ian

Obviously you're going to save on labour if you get it done both at the same time.

But since its a UK 5 speed then why spend money on it now only to break it again with the 18g

its which route to go down that i'm undecided about tbh; 5spd sti, jdm 6spd+linkage or UK 6spd+linkage or PPG gearset.-scratches head and looks at bank balance nervously-

5 speed Sti v6 = about £500 and a diff to @ £150 to match it.(hard to find now)
6 speeder 'kit' = £1800, and i think your rear diff will be ok @ 3.9:1 (?)
5 speeder with ppg kit = £2200 plus some nice bits, so about 2500.

350 x 350 engine will not break any of the above, especially the last 2.

Good clutch? Try an AP organic at £350 ish .

For better advice call David at www.apiengines.com as he does Group Buy deals.

I have an Sti v3 running 380 x 360 in competition with semi slicks and very hard starts and for 3 years all is well.(AP clutch)

Graham.

ps: all above plus fitting costs! Bitch of a job.

Just to say a UK 6 speed kit will go with your current diff, but a JDM 6 speed will need a 3.9 diff to go with it.

Not on commission for API, but they are a good honest Company, they stand to be measured on here and that gets my vote.
They have done urgent work on my 407 bhp hill climb Sti and it has proven to be bullet-proof!

API are a no bull **** zone, and that is refreshing I think.

An Sti v6 Wagon sound very nice!
