Bought a my95 turbo classic about 2 months ago now, when i bought the car the lad said that he had had it checked out a garage and the advice they gave was a possible gear oil change due to a slight transmission noise. I read up about this and it sounds about right so i bought the car.

The gearbox seems to whine a little especially in 4th & 5th. This has stayed the same till yesterday. Now its the same but in 4th and 5th sounds like a rattle has developed. I have checked the oil level and its fine but i must admit the gearbox oil seems very thin to me.

So i am going to do an oil change but has anyone else had this before, also i get a strange sort of metallic grind/whine if when driving i push the gearstick from left to right inside gates. Is this also normal?

Kind of hoping it isn't a duff box.

So just a few questions really and any help will be appreciated at this time

1) is the gearbox oil 75w90? if so this is way to thin and how much should i put in?
2) i believe the drain plug is at the front diff? anyone got a scan/pic/diagram?
3) My engine oil needs a top up, anyone know the type needed?
