do you need to remap after changing gear ratios??
hi guys,
i was wondering if its necessary to remap the ECU after changing the gear ratios??
i bought my wrx with type RA gear set, which gives a very tall 1st and much closer 2-3-4-5. Thing is, my acceleration doesn't seem to be much better than a standard wrx. the final drive is kept stock at 3.9 which makes my 1st gear painfully tall.
i was thinking if the ecu might be confused reading the different ratios and it isn't loading the engine enough to get target boost.

i thought boost profiles are all different on different gears (1st different from 2nd) anyhow, the reason i'm asking this is because, at times my acceleration feels really strong....but sometimes it feels really sluggish and i can't get peak boost. i was thinking the ECU might be confused, hence the occassional loss of boost.
looks like my turbo is going then.
My ratios are same with the 22b type uk.
1st 3.083 2nd 2.062 3rd 1.545 4th 1.151 5th 0.825 with 3.9 FD.
