Default Whats the best clutch for v8 STI?

Hiya

Not sure if my clutch is on the way out - its standard on a 53 reg STI. Wanted to know upfront if it was a good idea to put an upgraded clutch in if the current one gives out?

Dont want a mega performance one which means you cant drive around normally in town etc (starting, stopping etc), but was looking for something more middle of the road - better performance whilst not sacrificing durability and cost! Do they really make a difference? How much difference? Standard STI with stainless exhaust - putting out about 280bhp.

Have no clue about clutch technicalitites!!

Cheers

We can supply you the Exedy organic Performance clutch. 1 grade up from standard and capable of taking 400 hp in some of our customers' cars.

The action is light to use and the strength is huge. Not a single one sold, has experienced any judder for either 5 speed type or 6 speed type.

Cost is £380.00 + VAT for the 6 speed. Sometimes on a group buy the price is cheaper, but the last GB in March failed to find 5 takers as the 6 speed car is a bit new yet to be needing a clutch.

If I can help or you need fitting give me a call.

Thanks Dave. That sounds spot on. I'll keep your details for when the clutch definitley does give up!
