Question slipping clutch, but now it seems ok? WTF?

does this sound like a one off?

had been driving for about an hour on the motorway, car was fine, pulled as normal. got to bridge booths (dartford tunnel) and when i went to pull away the revs just flew round with not much increase in speed.

went through 1st and 2nd then backed right off in 3rd and it picked up speed.

i thought the clutch was shot but i've been trying to get it to slip (high gear with low revs up hills) and it won't slip pulls away with a bit of judder that wasn't there before but it's not slipping.

any chance this is just some sort of sticking issue or bit of muck on the clutch or something like that?

any thoughts would be much appreciated.

bite point is the same.

had a spin around today and all seems fine. there's a clutch judder when pulling away in 1st or 2nd but other than that i can't get it to slip no matter what i try.

hopefully a one off for what ever reason?

My $$$ is on the clutch fluid being hot etc.
Next service have it bled clear and refil/bleed with Dot 5 brake fluid.
That judder might go too.

I had the same thing a while back and, in my case, there wasn't enough heat to boil the fluid. It did it a few times over a couple of days when accelerating really hard and then stopped - I shouldn't be opening my big trap, should I? Anyhow, the feeling from my tame Subaru technician was that there might have been a high spot on the friction plate which eventually wore down to the same level as the rest and I also mentioned it to Andy Forrest when he was mapping for me recently and he reckoned that if the car isn't used a lot (mine isn't) the plate seems to get a glaze on it somehow which wears off.
