Firestorm imho looks max power with the big exit then the small internal pipe, sort of system I would expect to see on a Nova

Depends how much noise that you want tbh, I have a PPP backbox coupled to a straight thru centre & the sound is just right & the 4" outlet is the right size I recon

scoobyclinic backbox for me the 4.5 inch angled one. Sounds awesome, looks good (when used with the scoobyclinic unresonated centre section)

I have had both of these sytems. The vortex has that classic deep scooby growl whereas the firestorm has more of a higher pitched metallic rasp. The firestorm IMHO has more of a WRC sound to it.

cheers.

Its the "Growl" that i'm after to be honest but the Afterburner doesn't seem to have the high polished finish that i want.

Agree. I've not had either of them on my car, but heard them on many others. I don't really like the firestorm TBH - it may be more authentic WRC, but it just doesn't sound as nice a something that brings out the rumble more, like the Afterburner.

Give Hayward and Scoot a ring (they manufacture the Afterburner) and they can custom make you an exhaust.

I've bought a TSL Tiphoon and that has an awesome sound, good burble and great growl on acceleration. Looks good to with the blue titanium exit pipe.

Also pops and bangs when lifting off

i was asking exactly the same question 2 months ago and went for the firestorm. ordered it online it was here in 3 days and fitted first time in 15 minutes. i love the look of it,perfect on newage cars and the sound just keeps getting better with miles, its definitely raspy but it still has a good chunk of the scooby burble too. now for the centre pipe i think,im half deaf anyway!

When you get plenty of air going over hills, people say "yeah, that unresonated centre looks the dogs"

Agree. I liked the Firestorm up until I decatted. Then at high revs had an awful dare I say cheap "rasp" sound. Dreadful. Soon changed.

Sounded the business on tick over and blipping the throttle though!
