Angry Gearbox help please!

Had the syncros on first and second start to go on my96 uk turbo, so a friend in the motor trade helped me get it sorted. He had a accident damaged my 97 wrx box he donated to me and got a gearbox builder to make one good box out of the two. After refitting the new box i've got quite bad shuddering when accelerating hard in second when i change in to third it goes? Any ideas? Could it be the box? My first diagnosis was the prop but changed it and it was no different. Could it be a ratio problem as i'm not sure what bits of what box he used and from what i've seen the wrx box uses a 1.1-1 drop gear which is different to the uk box?Any help greatly appreciated as this has been like it for nearly a year now!

Thanks for the replies lads,I've been offered a rebuilt wrx box and matching diff at a resonable price would that be the best way go? i'm having the rest of the mapping done to run the car @ 1.35 bar soon so predict power figures of around 310-320 bhp 290-300lbft tourque(it has alot of supporting mods)will the wrx box be capable of handling the torque?should i overfill the gearbox as i've read on snet this can help it cope?Replies much appreciated.
