Default crank pully

i have a 97 spec uk turbo and the crank pully for the alternator and pas pump keeps coming loose
i took the bolt up and studlocked it but after 100 miles it worked loose again
any ideas any1?

What torque are you tightning it too ?

Most people say put car in gear hold brakes on and tighten as much as this will let you.

This is not enough.. I tried this and could only get it to about 90lb/ft and if I remember correctly is should be 130lb/ft.
You will see 4 holes in the pulley which you can use to hold it while you tighten.you will have to make a holder of some sort though.

i put it in gear , tighted it up with a BIG bar than tapped it up with a hammer

Theres your answer then.
You will only get 80/90lb/ft like that and if nobody was holding the brakes on, probably 50/60lb/ft

This is a common prob, make sure you get it tight enough as it can damage the end of the crank. This nearly happened to me.
