Default Help have i bought a dog!!

Picked up my first Scooby today(93 wrx ra 63000 miles) and i think its costing me money already. I checked most things before i parted with my money but on arriving home and reversing out of the drive i found a problem, the car grinds when you put it in reverse, if you put it in slow its not to bad, also when i change down i get what feels like clutch judder, please help all my dreams have been shattered as i sit here crying in to my bank statement

welcome to the world of subaru ownership.

try double declutching when going into reverse - mine does it sometimes. safe to say it aint a syncro problem.

loads of em judder when changing gear, normally cos the last clutch change didn't skim the flywheel it's not a problem.

enjoy!

Slip it into one of the forward gears then pull through quickly into reverse. The layshaft will not have time to start to spin. It's possible the clutch is "dragging" slightly. Make sure you are getting full clutch pedal travel and have no air in the clutch hydraulics.
