Default Heat Related Clutch Problem?

Hi

Recently had a pipe renewed between clutch master and slave cylinder (clutch pedal stuck to the floor whilst wifey was driving in queue to join M25 from M3 - she was not amused and I had to drive it home in loads of traffic forcing the clutch pedal back up each time I used it!! Turns out it was a pinhole leak in the pipe).

Anyway, I now experience the problem of a significantly harder clutch pedal after a short time in traffic. When cold and during normal running it is fine apart from the dreaded judder and the harder pedal used to only happen after long stationary periods when heat built up but now it appears quite frequently.

I can remember seeing something about this in the past but can not find anything. Can anyone enlighten me and why should a new pipe make any difference?
