4th & 5th gear crunch again.....
....I know there are a tonne of posts on this but I've had this problem 3 times now on my P1, the previous two times were fixed under warranty last year. I have around 10 months left on the extended warranty. I don't particularly want a quick fix on this again, only to find in 12 months time it's back.
Where do you think I stand in asking for a new gearbox??
Cheers

These's either something very amiss here... or you're an animal when changing gear!!!
I never have been a big fan of these quick shift things... the P1 has it as standard doesn' it..??

A P1/STI may be quicker than some models, but its by no means a super short shift.
Either they are using the wrong oil, or the driver is quite abusive with it.
Or perhaps it hasnt been repaired right in the first place. I'd say the oil could be a likely suspect.

I have a reputation of driving like miss daisy amongst my mates, so I can 100% assure you, I am not abusive to my car. It's never seen a track or a drag strip in it's life.
I've booked it in for a couple of days next week to get it fixed, I think I might write to Subaru and ask them to garauntee the work for at least a year.

Just had an arguement with my local dealer Quenby's about warranty in relation to repairs which might help if true. They recon that as long as it is a UK car with a manufacturers 3 year warranty, then Subaru warrant any parts changed for the same 3 years. So if you had a 3 year warranty, and the synchro failed every 2 years and 364 days, they would replace it free forever.
