I have just picked up my flywheel,it has just been skimmed.
They said it was amazingly hard to skim even with a new carbon cutter.
The surface looks and feels like a record, very fine lines.
It has got so hot it has scorch marks on the back of it,and it ruined the centre bearing.
Is this ok or will it have an effect on the clutch plate?
Will it wear the clutch?
Its from MY96WRX
Any one out there that has experince with flywheels HELP please.
Thanks

i wouldnt worry too much mate
a fly wheel i designed to withstand very high temps
and i have never heard of anyone buckling one.
the bearing should have been taken out tho, that was just stupid of them
and those fine lines shouldnt be a problem. i put a exedy clutch in not so long ago and that had those line on it

Thanks craig.
I am bit anoyed the bearing was not removed, going to try and locate one today.
Only thing im concerned about is the noticible lines around the flywheel .They are only on the outer inch or so of the flywheel,so the outside is slightly thicker than the rest, only by a thou or two.
But will this mean that the face of the clutch is not fully in contact with the flywheel.
I dont know if this makes sense.Just trying to be sure before putting it all back together.
Any idea who i could call with experience of flywheels.
Cheers
