Default Eliminating Turbo Surge?

Would changing the VVT have a possibility of eradicating Turbo surge?

I appreciate a bigger turbo would eliminate this.

Apart from either reverting back to standard "bits and bobs" and changing a turbo, what else would be a possibility to play with to try and combat this..... apart from running capped boost up to the clearing rpm?

Regards,
Shaun.

I am not expert but from personal experience I believe everything that helps exhauts gases to escape helps eliminating turbo surge (say bigger exhaust, wastegate porting etc).

everyone says the td05/06 turbo surges really badly but i have had no problems with mine and it has a ported wastegate and a turbo dynamics actuator, mine runs a nice 1.5bar of boost

mine surge's badly between 4000 and 4500rpm.
Did try to have it ported and a different intakehose but that didn't solve the problem.
Bought me another turbo which won't have this issue......i hope

i'm running 1.5bar from 3300 - 7500 rpm btw
