Eliminating Turbo Surge?

Eliminating Turbo Surge?
Would changing the VVT have a possibility of eradicating Turbo surge?
I appreciate a bigger turbo would eliminate this.
Apart from either reverting back to standard "bits and bobs" and changing a turbo, what else would be a possibility to play with to try and combat this..... apart from running capped boost up to the clearing rpm?
Regards,
Shaun.

I am not expert but from personal experience I believe everything that helps exhauts gases to escape helps eliminating turbo surge (say bigger exhaust, wastegate porting etc).

mine surge's badly between 4000 and 4500rpm.
Did try to have it ported and a different intakehose but that didn't solve the problem.
Bought me another turbo which won't have this issue......i hope
i'm running 1.5bar from 3300 - 7500 rpm btw
