Default bhp

wot bhp can a standard 2002 wrx gearbox and clutch take before you have to change them.The car will not be raced or anything like that just normal use cheers MOMO

martin tyne tees scoobs has a 01 wrx over 400bhp on standard box , and new ap clutch , afaik

so should be ok with box but might need a clutch aventually. With the mods i have and with the td05 18g i dont think i will reach the 400bhp power anyway cheers MOMO

its not down to the torque but more how you use it, if you thrash your gearbox with lots of torque it wont last long but if you are kind to it, i know of someone who has had his gearbox last with 370lbs of torque

thats sound the car only gets out some nights and weekends i use my old derv surf for back and for to work plus dont really see the point in thrashing it all the time so i should have no worries with the box cheers stevebt. MOMO

Answered this on the other forum. Agree with Steve that the wrong driver can break the box with less torque. A bit of "driving it like you stole it" and the gearbox may not last 200 miles at 330lbft.
