Default Trashed UK gearbox, what can i replace it with?

The gear box in my UK 94 turbo is making sooo much noise I can't belive the car still drives! I know I can't replace it with an import box coz of different ratios but does any body know if any year classic standard UK box will fit??

Have seen a few for sale on the forum but have no idear whats compatible?

Mines whineing in 2nd and 5th. I think any UK box will be ok, even from a bugeye. This is what Ive been led to believe anyway. There are a few on here, and Id love to buy one, but as mine is still ok, you can have them instead
Litte'un and Ron both have the box's you need, oh, and Peanuts too

Yeah from what i've read so far looks like anything uk will work, was just making sure. i think it must be an out put bearing of some kind on mine coz I've constantly got this grumble, has only done 85K and doesn't look to have ever been modded!?!

think im right in saying this but you could fit a jdm spec box as long as you also fitted the jdm spec rear diff....thererfore front and rear wheels would be turning at the same rate, cant mix and match uk and jdm due to the differing ratios used uk longer legged less revs at cruising speeds...jdm shorter gearing, quicker off the line but higher revs at cruise....if you can pick up a package off front and rear off a jdm might work out cheaper???....hope thats right

Yip, think thats right Rigga, but when I get to replaceing mine, I'll still go for the UK box, as I like the long gearing. i.e 90mph and an easy 3.5k rev's
