Question Is this MAF failure?

Have replaced the faulty maf. Has cured the problem of the revs dropping to virtually zero after revving to above 3k rpm. Is now not achieving full boost (mapped to 1.5bar and only hitting 1bar). Lambdlink indicates its running richer than usual.

Was wondering whether it isn't achieving boost due to a fault code needing clearing? ....although the boost is controlled via dawes device (how it was mapped).

The only other thing to mention is that the maf seemed to let go all of a sudden.

Have disconneted the battery for an ecu reset.

Any ideas in the meantime?

Bob

Rich running AND low boost normally suggests an air leak somewhere Bob.

After your ECU reset, drive the car gently through the gears 2500>4500 rpm at circa 0.5 bar boost a few times to quicken the learning process.

Andy: What happened was: I was 'engaged' with a F360 last night. WOT in 2nd (and it was fine)and then into 3rd and the power just wasnt there (was fine all night before that). Stopped over and the revs diving to virtually zero and bounching a few times before settling. After that if i revved to say 3k rpm or 4k rpm and backed off it would do the same diving to zero routine.

Have changed the maf and the old one was quite dirty. Took it for a drive without ecu reset and it no longer hunts but the idle isnt quite spot on. Not getting boost though and lambalink lights to far right green on WOT. Getting around 1 bar. No KL activity.

Only other things to mention: fuel pump sounded a bit noiser than usual before the probs yesterday but it may just be me as I havent driven it for a couple of weeks. Also took some oil out via the dipstick tube (not much as it had a little too much in).

re: air leak. Is it likey to happen at the same time as a maf failure? Boost isnt leaking (as you can normally hear it)
Trying to get the car running for Japanese Street Fighter Championsips (drag) tommorow.
