First of all, you have one of these...
...so please use it
Second, the forum has one of these.....
....so please use that
Thirdly, to show I can be helpful even to newbies Induction kits are not recommended on cars running below 350bhp, and even then must be combined with a good cold air feed and be securely mounted. If the cold air is not present then high intake temps can reduce power, and if not well bracketed then vibrations can damage the delicate MAF sensor (particularly on 98-00 cars). I'd always recommend a good panel from the likes of JR Racing/Green/K&N/STi.

Taz:
I have an Sti V3 running 407 bhp on stock induction but with a panel filfter from Green Cotton.
The car ran 314 bhp once on a Halfords replacement filter (I was desperate at the time!)
I would avoid the racey/bling induction kits, get lots of COLD air to the inlet from the inner wing/ducting.
Feeding a 500x400 monster engine will need a different approach...
All IMHO...
Graham.
