clutch slave cylinder

hi guys ive just put a new clutch slave cylinder on my97turbo after bleeding the system and makin sure there is no air in ive still not getting the pedal all the way up only halfway. the only way it get it to come up is by hand or pushing the fork forward that the cylinder pushes. any ideas guys wots wrong

There seem to be a few reasons why this happens.
First, is the return spring that sits under the intercooler still in place and in tension? This can break off and that can lead to the lack of pedal return.
Air seems to get caught in the system even when you think it's bled OK. Not sure if bleeding the 'scoob clutch is unusually tricky, but I found I good guide for bleeding the clutch here:

Some people have reported holding the slave closed while you bleed the system and then doing a normal bleed procedure can stop the pedal problem.
