upgrades for 0-60 times
hi ive jus bought my much loved subaru impreza wrx 1998 version.
the car is standard at the mo, would be grateful for any advise on the best way to notch up my 0-60 times at the mo.

thanks for that but dont really want to strip anything out of it. was thinking about getting it super chipped whats peoples thoughts on this ? i mean will it help out on the acceleration ? i know it takes away the redline but will it be benificial ? thanks all

don't superchip.
if you want that kind of upgrade, then depending on your location, get an apexi power fc.
If in scotland, speak to andy forrest, if in england then speak to pavlo (paul blamire), or possibly patrick herborn, though I am not sure that he does pwer fcs, despite being able to map anything.

There are 2 main ways to improve your 0-60 times
1. Be totally mechanically unsympathetic, learn how to launch it properly (something along the lines of side stepping the clutch at 5k and planting the throttle). This should get you to 60 in about 4.5-5.0 seconds.
2. Spend loads of money on a new ecu (not superchips), decat exhaust and other bits. Have loads of power but still not launch properly and you'll get 6-7 seconds 0-60.
Oh and since you have just bought the car I assume you know that since its a Jap import unless it has already been remapped, you need to run it on Optimax and a good octane booster as it is mapped to run on 100RON fuel.
