flamer kits

They work by mounting a spark plug in the end of your exhaust which ignites the exces fuel vapour coming from your engine. The spark plug is hooked up to a box of electronics inside the car that make a continuos spark at the plug.
They are faily easy to install yourself if you are firly handy with the spanners, drills and a small bit or wiring. IF not then I think SCperformance? (try a search) would fit them for you
They are availbale on ebay and in the for sale section sometimes
Oh and by the way , be prepared for all the tw*ts the will add replys calling you a muppet and that you a chav etc for wanting one, they have a habbit of contributing complete boll*x which is of no help at all to the original question.

this sounds stupid, but if you have a turbo car, just get a centre decat for about £90 and it will flame without having to use the spark gap generator and all the gubbins that go with it when you release the throttle m8...

Whats the point?
If your that bothered get yourself a descent ECU with an anti lag function.
That will make you go faster too instead of just looking like a tart.

This aint all true, if you want to know the truth then its the flamer kits that are not road legal, just imagine someone walking behind your car and it boots out a flame, love to see the insurance claim for that one!
And yes they are for chavs

The ebay ones work perfectly.. i must have fitted 10 of them...
Definately the cheapest way to do it, get the box from ebay, coil lead and switch from halfords and a nut from car spares... local garage will need to weld in the nut but will prob cost £5 (usually does)
I get loads of stick for fitting these for mates, BUT!!! everyone who sees it loves it!
As for a flamer kit damaging an engine, PMSL!!!!! it ignites unburnt fuel which is usually a waste gas that joins the outside air.... the only way it could harm your engine is if the flames that are emmitted are so large that they ingulfe (sp) the car with flames and burnt the car to the floor and melting the cam covers (best thing i could come up with)
Jesus.. i fitted neon's to my best mates scoob... if you wanna start a flame thread...
Start a 'i want Neon's thread'

mine is on top of the tail pipe behind the bumper
you drill a hole in the pipe then weld a nut over the hole and screw the plug in place
its only the end bit of the plug thats in the tail-pipe and you'd only see it if you looked down the tail-pipe from a very close distance which is very un-advisable ;-)

if you cut the ignition wire like most flamer kit do you'll be killing the turbo in the end.
Ever thought off the heat difference between burned fuel and just fuel, Not to mention the risk off having a backfire. I have had a flamer kitt myself untill a friend of mine had a backfire wich killed his Turbo. The flamer kit costed me a new rear bumper because the misses enjoyed playing with it on every car meeting

I drive a WR1 and have heard about putting a de-cat mid section but there seem to be a few differences of opiniononder2: ,i dont think its in my intrest to start going for re-maps etc either, any 1 out there with an 04 sti with ppp who has a centre decat and has the desired effect???
I assume that would be nearest to what the WR1 runs at,will also try extreme scoobies for any reccomendations,

Just a thought but a good old backfire never harmed an engine in my experience
