Dump Valve - I want rid of it
Just bought a 2nd hand MY98 with PPP which is perfect in every way (touch wood) except that it has an aftermarket dump valve on it. I want rid of it as I think it sounds crap and I'm not a chav anyway.
Am sending it into a official Subaru garage next week but service people think that ECU may need to be remapped if the original part is refitted.
This doesn't make sense to me - but am after a 2nd opinion?
Finally, would taking the aftermarket dump valve off cause any problems? Does it benefit the car? I used to have a MY98 a few years back and I honestly can't see any benefit from having it at the moment.
Regards
James
