fitting a HKS SSQV to a UK MY96...
Hi all
Does anyone have any pics of a HKS SSQV fitted to a UKMY96?
I've just purchased one (and its for this model, NOT a universal one!)
The vehicle was purchase with a rather naff sounding, but well installed, forge motorsport effort, i always wanted the SSQV and i've managed to get a brand new one for a really gd price.
So, i'm wanting to swop the two over, can anyone offer me some tips (cos these things are adjustable), maybe even a picture of the item fitted, as the instructions i got are in japanese, which is nice.
Cheers folks,
regards
Noddy

Which version of the hks ssqv did you get? 97/98 or 99/00
I believe there are 3 version for the classic. pre96,then 97/98, then 99/00.
I purchased 2nd hkssqv for my95 sti, the version I bought was for 97/98 cars.
I was not bothered about the fitment for pre96 at the time as it was going to be used along with my fmic, which had a larger diameter fitment pipe for the hks dv. The 97/98 version hks fitted fine for that.
Anyway I tried to fit it to my standard setup, but I had to by cut off of samco reducing pipe (larger diameter one end & a smaller at the other)
Plus I had to make my own bracket for hks ssqv.
I am not sure if you can purchase the lower half of the hks ssqv separately for your specific model year as it is only held in place by a large C clip.
(Where your hose connects too)

Cheers Ticky,
but i think iwas being a bit premature, the kit itself was NOT the universal item and was infact the very correct item for my model (the box said: 93-96 GC8) its all fitted now, and i did'nt hav any real problems! LOL - the only prob i did hav was the short hose section tht connects the valve to the oem 'bov elbow' was about 15mm too long, so i had to shave it down a little. Buts all gd, and a very sweet sound and awesome lookin piece of kit.
I have pics if anyone would like to see em. I also have a forge motorsport bov with 'samco' fitting kit available now if anyone's interested.
Thanksa again folks
