Hey, a Dawes device is a mechanical boost controller. By using a ball and spring mechanism it holds boost (to a certain manually set level) from the wastegate. Not only does this increase spool up time due to eliminating boost creep but allows you to change the boost level.

It would be unwise to fit a Dawes device or similar GBE valve unless you knew what you were doing. You should also have a boost guage and reliable AFR guage in the car or better still, access to a wide band lambda. A knock link would also be advisable for such a mod.

Remap of the ECU by someone who knows what they are doing. It's cheap because it won't cost you a new engine in the long run.
