Recommended Piston slap repairer for my UK MY98
Hi All
Got some serious problems with piston slap in my UK MY98 (running +300BHP). Car has done 67K and has been smoking on start up for approx 4 months, once warm the smoke disappears. I have once seen the knocklink flash right up into the red on gentle throttle in low gears so oil is mixing with fuel. Got her checked out and cylinder 4 is contaminated with oil thus bringing the octane right down.
So I have had a quick look on the net and emailed the following
API
Full engine rebuild good for 330BHP guaranteed no more piston slap £2K plus VAT
Central Subaru
Piston slap repair £650 plus VAT
Full engine rebuild £1700 plus VAT
So can anyone else recommend any other places that can repair my engine or have dealt with the Central Subaru.

Location: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?

I have dealt with central subaru and cannot recommend them.

You mean she doesn't ALWAYS?
If not you are a lucky man.
API did my Sti v3 head gaskets.
The car is raced hard, makes 407 bhp at 1.4 bar boost and is perfect.
Just go to API and sleep easy.
If she loves you she will let you....
